A woman from Crown Heights was killed in an apparent hit-and-run Christmas morning while she was on her way to work. Police say the driver of the grey vehicle that hit Donna Fountain sped away and left her dying at the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Troy Avenue.

Fountain, a 38-year old single mother from Crown Heights, was found with a list of her life's dreams in her pocket.. The list included goals to find a great job, buy a house by the age of 45, start housing for gay and lesbian teens, marry the woman of her dreams, and to watch her son Elijah graduate from college.

Fountain carried the handwritten note simply titled, "My Dreams," with her everywhere.

The Daily News spoke to Fountain's friend who said of the tragedy, "She gave everything she had to her son and worked so hard for him... She was all about making her dreams come true. Nothing could have stopped her except this."

The friend, Dena Baveghems, said that Fountain had planned to come home after work and pick up her son to open presents to celebrate the holiday.

Fountain was a raising her 8-year old son and worked as a healthcare aide for Partners in Care.

Police are currently reviewing traffic camera footage to find the suspect behind the hit-and-run.
