Fat Joe has turned himself in to jail to serve his four-month sentence for tax evasion, TMZ reported.
The rapper, whose real name is Joe Cartagena, was sentenced to four months in prison back in June after he admitted that he failed to file federal income taxes on more than $1 million for two years in 2007 and 2008.
According to the AP report, federal prosecutors said Fat Joe caused the government to lose $718,038 between 2007 and 2010. He originally faced up to two years but will only serve four months in prison and will have to pay a $15,000 fine.
The rapper is allegedly in custody at Miami's Federal Detention Center and will begin his sentence immediately.
