Conservative attorney George Conway remained defiant this weekend when asked whether he feared becoming the next critic of Donald Trump who could face potential presidential retaliation.
“Yes or no answer, are you worried that you’re next on the enemies list?” Conway was asked on MSNBC.
“No,” he replied, laughing.
“Let him try,” the lawyer added. “Let him try.”
Conway’s remark came following a discussion on former national security adviser John Bolton, a onetime Trump first-term official turned outspoken critic, who now faces eight counts of transmitting national defense information and 10 counts of unlawful retention of national defense information, allegedly related to “diary-like entries” he shared with family members, which assisted him in the writing of a book. Bolton has denied any wrongdoing.
Conway explained why he believes the case against Bolton could be both legitimate in legal terms and politically motivated, following the indictments of two other prominent Trump critics: former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James.
