'How I Met Your Dad' Cast Fleshed Out To Include Supporting Characters

Meet The Cast Of 'How I Met Your Dad'

The series is not set to come out until the fall, but most of the "How I Met Your Dad" cast has been fleshed out already and CBS has added faces to many of the supporting roles.

We already know the "How I Met Your Mother" spinoff cast Greta Gerwig in the lead, but now we know who she'll work with to make the new show work.

All of the main roles reported in the original character descriptions have been cast, except for the narrator voice, which will recount the stories from the future.

Take a look at the castings below. Do you buy them?

Gerwig will play the main character, Sally, described as "messy and unpredictable -- a female Peter Pan who has never quite grown up. The pilot will follow her as she thinks about breaking up with husband Gavin (Holm.)"

The "Smash" alum will play one of Sally's best friends, Juliet, who keeps her afloat as she goes through the break up. The party girl character runs a fashion blog.

The "Masters of Sex" star joined the pilot as Frank, head of IT for Juliet's fashion blog. His character was originally described as having feelings for Sally.

Ders! The "Workaholics" dude will join the cast as Gavin, Sally's soon-to-be-ex-husband. TVLine broke the story and noted that since the role is a recurring one, he could be back for more "Workaholics." Recently, Holm appeared as Mindy Lahiri's fiance in "The Mindy Project."
Andrew Santino

Santino now stars on ABC's "Mixology" and just landed a guest starring role on "HIMYD" as Sally's gay older brother, Danny. Danny's described as an uptight lawyer, but Sally will move in with him after she and Gavin split up.

Tarver will play Todd, Danny's husband and one of Sally's closest friends from college. He was originally described as "warm and outgoing."
