Jozy Altidore will be available to play for the U.S. against Belgium in a win-or-go-home Round of 16 clash at the 2014 World Cup. The 24-year-old striker suffered a strained left hamstring in the U.S. team's opening game in the group stage against Ghana and missed subsequent matches against Portugal and Germany. The team announced on Monday that Altidore will be available when the U.S. takes on Belgium on Tuesday in Salvador.
U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann was noncommittal when discussing Altidore's potential role in the Round of 16 matchup with Belgium.
"We don't know how much because we need to see how he's going, but he's available,"Klinsmann said after the announcement on Monday, via The Associated Press. "How many minutes? We will see that during the game."
