Since that episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" where Kanye West cleans out Kim Kardashian's closet, we assumed that her rapper boyfriend was behind her revamped image. But after taking a look back at old photographs of the Kardashian clan, we believe Kourtney Kardashian is Kimmy's style muse.
Frilly miniskirts, plunging necklines and metallic lamé dresses defined Kourtney's early 20s just as they did for Kim. While pregnant with her son Mason in 2009, the oldest Kardashian sister's style shifted to more sophisticated pieces. Instead of showing lots of leg and boobs, Kourtney focused on one asset. (But there were tons of baby bump-hugging outfits that we'd later see reinterpreted by Kim.)
Kourtney even went through a minimalist phase, which included black and white ensembles with architectural tailoring and cleaner hair and makeup. Sound familiar? Kourtney now accentuates her womanly curves in statement dresses that make it easy for her to run around with two young children. We hope Kim continues to take style notes.
