Malibleu Gallery celebrates the beauty of California's coastline. "Wavelength" features the work of thirteen artists. Inspired by the ocean's waves and captivating sunsets, each artist takes a turn sharing his or her own personal vision of the California coast. Malibleu Gallery sits on the East side of Pacific Coast Highway and overlooks Malibu's magnificent shoreline, so it is apropos that the exhibit features beach views.

Together with the team at Malibleu, Gallery Director Roberta Dillon has created a vibrant and diverse exhibit featuring paintings, graphic art, mixed media, sculpture and photography. Dillon curated the last two shows at the gallery and said she loves the process of starting with an idea and watching it unfold and come to life. Dillon has chosen four of Brooke Harker's paintings for the front wall at Malibleu.

Harker explained how important it is to take the time needed to slow down. "The energy created in having a place to rejuvenate -- such as Malibu -- shows up in all the paintings I create. I feel more connected to myself when I am around water, and I use that energy to paint."

Harker's work has been selected to be part of a traveling museum exhibition titled "California Dreaming: An International Portrait of Southern California." Opening in Frosinone Italy, the group exhibition (which features fifty-three artists) begins its journey at the Palazzo dell Provincia di Frosinone, then travels to California, to the Oceanside Museum of Art in Oceanside, and finally ends at the Riverside Art Museum in Riverside, CA. To find out more about the painter, visit Brooke Harker's website.

Barbara Kosoff's mixed-media works will be included in "Wavelength." An illustrator and graphic designer, Kosoff's work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times as well as some national publications.

Angel in the Afternoon Light, is just one of the works on view. "I was inspired by my walks along the Santa Monica beach when I created Angel in the Afternoon Light," said Kosoff. "I love this time of day - when it is quiet in the late afternoon and the ocean is cool and comforting. This piece speaks to our need for renewal." For additional info about the artist, see Barbara Kosoff's website.

The work of landscape photographer Scott Tansey will also be part of the group exhibition. His solo show, "Los Angeles Panoramas" recently opened at Leica Gallery and will remain on view through August 31. Tansey is an avid fan of the panoramic format, which was the focus of the exhibit at Leica Gallery.

"Malibleu is a great funky art space," said Tansey. "Nice light." As part of the exhibit, Tansey will be showing three aerials of the California coast.

Tansey revealed that he accomplished one of his bucket list items when he flew on a Zeppelin over California in 2012. Three images from that trip will be on view at Malibleu Gallery. Tansey said that seeing the coast from a thousand feet up made him feel as if he were seeing the California coast for the first time. The photographer is planning his next venture to Maine in a couple of months - just in time for the fall colors. To see more images, visit Scott tansey's website.

One of Carole Garland's paintings titled The Receding Tide, has been selected to be in the exhibit. The artist said she was looking forward to being a part of the exhibit. "The Malibleu Gallery is a fabulous exhibition space in a great location above the landmark Cosentino's Nursery and across the road from Duke's Restaurant." See Carole Garland's website.

Photographer Michael B. Wood will be showing works from his Malibu surfing series, "Kinesólo." This will be the first time the photographer will be exhibiting at the gallery. "Robby has her work cut out in establishing Malibleu as a premier fine art gallery," said Wood. "She has a lot of energy to make it work. Malibu is a tough market, but there are many avid art collectors. They need to know about Malibleu."
