A Gollum Look-Alike Pulled Off A Legendary Wedding Photobomb

When you take wedding pictures in a public space, anything -- and we mean anything -- can happen. The photo below is proof of that:

No, your eyes do not deceive you. There is, indeed, a seemingly nude gentleman rock climbing in the background. The photo, which was recently posted to Reddit, is from the first wedding that photographer Jonas Peterson ever shot back in December 2008 in Queensland, Australia.

"Since it was my first wedding and I had never taken any wedding portraits before I was fully focused on posing my couple and didn’t notice the guy climbing up in the background until the very second I pressed the shutter," Peterson told The Huffington Post in an email. "I lowered the camera, he looked at me, I stared at him and he crawled back into the ocean like Gollum. Why he was there, we’ll never know. My couple hardly noticed him and didn’t believe me until I showed them the back of the camera."

Looks like the story behind this photo will remain one of life's great mysteries.
