WASHINGTON -- If riding Metro on the weekend and a rampant flu virus isn't scary enough, how about sharing a train car with some free-spirited pantless individuals? The No Pants Subway Ride DC continues its tradition of no pants in public this Sunday.
The sixth local iteration of the special ride will begin at Hancock Park off 7th and C streets SW near the L’Enfant Metrorail station at 2 p.m. Participants are encouraged to show up wearing pants. The time of pants-free living will be revealed at that location and time.
Following the subway rides will be a party at Cobalt, located on the corner 17th and R streets NW. The downstairs area is all ages, the upstairs is 21+.
According to the Facebook invite, the Improv Everywhere tradition is not a protest of pants, but more of collection of people that happened to forget to wear pants. The event is PG-13 and respectful of "anyone of authority."
The rides date backs to 2002. This year the ride will take place in sixty cities in five continents.
Weather conditions in the nation's capital on Sunday are expected to be cloudy with high temperatures near 70 degrees.
