The Norwegian Dawn is a popular floating resort. The waters are crowded with sea-worthy vessels, so to make planning easier, we've done all the prep work for a cruise vacation. As part of a Huffington Post Travel series on cruise ships, here is a tip sheet offering all the key information one could ever need to know about the Norwegian Dawn.
Atlantic Destinations
The
cruises from Boston to Bermuda in the summer, from Canada and New England in the fall and from Miami to the Caribbean in the winter. Cruises range from two-day excursions at sea to a 16-day cruise through Colonial America from Quebec, Canada, to Tampa, Fla. Cruises are limited to the eastern side of America and the Caribbean.
Elegant Ship
The Norwegian Dawn is a 965-foot ship that boasts Norwegian Cruise Line's "Freestyle" cruise experience. It can accommodate 2,224 passengers with a crew of 1,073. The ship cruises at a speed of 25 knots.
Special Features
Norwegian Dawn houses the Dawn Club Casino and a special Kids Center with the T-Rex Kids Pool. This ship also boasts the largest suite at sea with a three-bedroom, 5,802-square-foot villa that includes a private garden.
Accommodations
The ship offers interior
that can house up to four guests, ocean-view rooms, staterooms with balconies and a variety of suite options. Rooms designed with families in mind are available in each of the categories. Interior staterooms are 142 square feet; oceanview rooms are 159 square feet; balcony rooms are 262 square feet; and suites range from 283 square feet to the three-bedroom Garden Villa at 5,802 square feet.
Cost
Cruise rates range from a two-day quick cruise from Boston to sea and back at $369 per person for an inside stateroom, to a 14-day Canada and New England cruise from Boston at $2,649 per person for a suite. Children under two receive a reduced fare. Certain itineraries offer discounts for the third and fourth guests in the same stateroom. Infants under six months are not eligible for travel on Norwegian Cruise Line ships. Check the website -- which has a "best price guaranteed" policy -- for last-minute and online deals.
Excursions
The

that embarks from Miami. Stops include Samana, Dominican Republic, Tortola, British Virgin Islands, Philipsburg, St. Maarten, St. John, Antigua, Bridgetown, Barbados, and Basseterre, St. Kitts. Shore excursions include the Best of Tortola and the Stingray Swim & Snorkel.
Dining Experience
The Norwegian Dawn has

Restaurants that are available for an extra charge include sushi, French, steakhouse and Asian culinary options. Room service is complimentary from 5 a.m. to midnight, but there is a delivery charge for room service from midnight to 5 a.m.
