The Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Spirit is a popular floating resort. The waters are crowded with sea-worthy vessels, so to make planning easier, we've done all the prep work for a cruise vacation. Destination Paradise

currently books cruises to the Caribbean and will be sailing to the Mediterranean in 2012. Cruises from seven to 23 days are available, and ports of departure include Miami, Venice, Italy, Barcelona and New Orleans. Cruises run year-round.
Grand Ship
The Norwegian Spirit is an 881-foot ship that boasts Norwegian Cruise Line's "Freestyle" cruise experience. It can accommodate 2,018 passengers with a crew of 962 and cruising speed of 24 knots.
Special Features
The
is home to a state-of-the-art spa that offers stunning views from its floor-to-ceiling windows. The ship also offers gaming for adults at the Maharajah's Casino, while younger cruisers can enjoy the Celebrity Teen Disco.
Accommodations
The Norwegian Spirit offers interior
that can house up to four guests, oceanview rooms, staterooms with balconies and a variety of suite and penthouse options. Rooms designed with families in mind are available in each of the categories. Interior staterooms are 149 square feet; oceanview rooms are 157 to 225 square feet; balcony rooms are 201 square feet; and suites range from 414 square feet to the aft-facing Owner's Suite at 605 square feet.
Cost
on the Norwegian Spirit range from a seven-day Caribbean cruise round-trip from New Orleans at $429 per person for an inside stateroom, to a 23-day trans-Atlantic cruise from Miami at $6,199 per person for a suite. Children under two receive a reduced fare. Certain itineraries offer discounts on the third and fouth guests in the same stateroom. Infants under six months are not eligible for travel on Norwegian Cruise Line ships. Check the website for last-minute and online deals. The website also has a "best price guaranteed" policy.
Excursions
The
offers a seven-day cruise of the
round-trip from New Orleans, with stops in Costa Maya, Mexico, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras, Belize City, Belize, and Cozumel, Mexico. Shore excursions include the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins and cave tubing.
Dining Experience
The Norwegian Spirit has
that are included in the cruise price and those that are an additional cost. The two main dining rooms, the Bier Garten and cafe are complimentary options for guests. Restaurants that are available for an extra charge include a steakhouse as well as French, Asian and Italian cuisine. Room service is complimentary from 5 a.m. to midnight. (There is a delivery charge for room service from midnight to 5 a.m.)
Maiden Voyage
The Norwegian Spirit's maiden voyage was in 2000. According to
