Fifteen people aboard a "party bus" were hospitalized early Tuesday after their bus was sideswiped by an SUV.
Around 2:30 a.m. on Interstate 290, the Eisenhower Expressway, near Ashland Avenue, a Ford Expedition struck the left side of the bus, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
The bus was carrying between 40 and 50 people, ABC Chicago reports. None of the riders' injuries were life-threatening, according to state police.
The driver of the Expedition -- Andy Taylor, 29, of Chicago -- was charged with DUI, driving without insurance and making an improper lane change, according to the station. The driver of the bus also was cited -- for driving without insurance and for carrying too many people aboard the bus.
The bus's passengers rented the vehicle to celebrate the birthday of a family member who had died, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Four people in the SUV were also injured in the crash, according to the paper. Their injuries were also not serious.
