Pat Robertson: Gay Marriage Is 'Unnatural' Because No One Has Conceived A Child Through Anal Sex

There's One Thing That Could Make Pat Robertson Support Gay Marriage (And It Has To Do With Anal Sex)

Arguing that gays and lesbians who also identify as Christians are merely part of the "left-wing agenda," conservative televangelist Pat Robertson offered a simple, if ineloquent, explanation with regard to his longstanding opposition to same-sex marriage.

Pointing to a recent surge in businesses that have spoken out against same-sex marriage and other rights, Robertson made the eyebrow-raising statement in a recent "700 Club" broadcast, Right Wing Watch first reported.

"If you show me one couple that conceived a child through anal -- through anal intercourse -- just show me one in all the world, and I will say, ‘I agree with you and you are right.’ Show me one," he said. "It is unnatural, I’m sorry."

Robertson made headlines last week in an earlier broadcast after he implied that the gay community would force Christians to like anal sex, as well as polygamy and bestiality, in an effort to "make you conform to them."

"You're gonna say that you like anal sex, you like oral sex, you like bestiality," Robertson, who is no stranger to anti-gay declarations, said at the time. "Sooner or later, you're going to have to conform your religious beliefs to the group of some abhorrent thing. It won't stop at homosexuality."

In 2014, he described same-sex activity as "not very pretty" on a recent "700 Club" broadcast, noting, "Nobody can ever produce a child through homosexual sex or lesbian sex -- you cannot do it. This is for procreation and God has said that those who violate it, the land will vomit them out."

He shared similar sentiments in 2012, at the height of the media firestorm surrounding Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy's remarks about same-sex marriage.

Calling it "an abomination for a man to lie with a man as with a woman," he noted, "I defy these homosexuals to bring forth a baby from that part of the anatomy which they concentrate on. When that happens I will change everything I'm saying; until that happens, I wish those demonstrators would shut their mouth."
