Broncos Rookie Arrested For Alleged Sexual Assault

Perrish Cox, a rookie defensive back for the Denver Broncos, has been arrested on sexual assault charges.

KUSA in Denver reports that Cox was arrested without incident at 10:00 PM on Thursday night. He was taken to the Douglas County Jail.

According to the Denver Post, the arrest stems from a lengthy and detailed investigation into a sexual assault that occurred on October 28 in the city of Lone Tree, Colorado. He has since been released from jail.

As the Post's Lindsay Jones points out, October 28 was the day the Broncos left for London to play the San Francisco 49ers. Cox stayed behind due to a concussion suffered against the Oakland Raiders.

Broncos media relations director Patrick Smyth told the AP the team is aware of the reports and is "currently in the process of gathering information and reviewing the facts."

According to the AP, a Douglas County judge has allowed Cox to leave the state twice, apparently for the two remaining Broncos road games.

Cox, a fifth-round pick out of Oklahoma State, has started 8 games for the Broncos.
