If you are one of the "lucky" ones who gets to experience all four seasons, then we don't have to tell you how hard dressing for winter can be. Layering is key, as is finding items that are not only warm, but also stylish. Although scarves and hats come in a plethora of different styles and colors and are a breeze to find, winter boots are an entirely different beast.

Finding great footwear for fall is a cinch -- you don't need to factor in slush, snow or salt. But when the tempatures drop below freezing and the threat of black ice becomes a reality, teetering around in stiletto booties is impossible (and dangerous). (We still have flashbacks to the days when our parents would dress us in heavy, clunky boots to ensure our feet stayed dry.) Don't stress, there are in fact nice winter boots that are winterproof thanks to cushy rubber soles, waterproof materials and furry linings -- it just takes some extra digging. And before you rule out leather and suede, all you have to do is spray your boots with a water-repellent coating and they'll be ready to handle just about any weather.
