The SRT Viper was made to please even the stingiest of lead-footed persons. A beautiful two-seater and custom-molded body is accentuated by the promiscuous, viper-like curvatures that snake around from the front fascias all the way to the rear wheel wells and tail.
For a reptilian-based supercar, it's one sexy creature, hood vents, front lid indents, curved hardtop, matching tail and all.
Well-equipped, you'll get 18" front wheels and 19" rear wheels with summer touring tires, automated bi-xenon headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, remote entry/start, power-adjustable pedals, tilt-only steering wheel (not sure what gives here; it should be tilt and telescope to suit all drivers), heated and powered side mirrors, automated climate control and auto-dim rearview mirror. Tech features include: 8.4" touchscreen with Dodge's Uconnect system, Bluetooth/iPod/USB integration, voice-control, GPS, SD card reader and 12-speaker premium Harman Kardon audio system.
Don't forget about all the cushy upgrades, though.
Deeper-pocketed buyers can opt for custom GT front and rear fascias, a custom-trimmed hood, driver-selectable suspension dampers, signature Brembo brakes with painted calipers, powered front seating, premium leather upholstery with contrast stitching, 18-speaker upgraded Harmon-Kardon audio system, carbon-fiber rear spoiler, carbon-fiber front splitter, black brake calipers and softer-compound Pirelli tires, to name a few of many available options.
Of course, it's all about what's under the hood. In this case, it's a behemoth 8.4-liter V10 engine that cranks out 645 ponies with 600 pound-feet of torque, able to go from zero-to-60 in about 3.7 seconds. And we thought horses were scared of snakes?
While the SRT Viper certainly can't laud the 1,000 HP of the Bugatti Veyron, nor can it top the Lamborghini Aventador, it easily bests other cars that are closer to its class (and price) like the capable Audi R8.
For a price tag of $86,995 - you get a whole lot of snake venom for your buck with a car that bites hard and can out-perform many other higher-priced supercars on the road today.
Put that in your tailpipe and smoke it, Ford GT ($345k; 666 horsepower).
