The problem with the media covering NFL training camps is basically the same affliction that has struck Albert Haynesworth: they got so good at what they do they became fat and lazy. Chris Mortenson has gotten so famous for his NFL reporting, he barely makes an effort to get off the bus anymore -- the players and coaches come on to talk to him! I swear, at one of these Training Camp Tour stops we're going to see Chiefs head coach Todd Haley waking up Mort from a nap in the king-sized water bed they've outfitted his bus with for his face-to-face and Mort will just roll over and do the interview in his boxers. But you better believe if something happens in Favre-ville, Mississippi it's going to be like The Cannonball Run between Mortenson and Adam Schefter to see who can get their bus there faster.

Me? I haven't gotten too big for the the grind. So I packed up the rented Ford Windstar (I asked Hertz if O.J. could show me to my vehicle. They didn't laugh.) and hit the road to dig up some of the best stories surrounding training camp -- holdouts and haircuts; made-up conditions and lack of conditioning -- for a Training Camp Touchdown: 6 things you want to know about these summer workouts.
