If you’re like most people concerned about their health, you should not place it on the back burner. You should be always looking for a better way not to take it for granted. However, you seem to feel invincible about it until it fails. In order to feel better about yourself, it’s time to start taking preventative action. In fact, your body will appreciate you adding years to your life!

Good news for procrastinators: now you can get a hold of initially taking care of yourself by following a proven method below. These steps include:

Step 1: Exercise on a regular basis

Step 2: Make an appointment to see your physician

Step 3: Change up your diet (what and how you eat)

Step 1 – Exercise on a regular basis – What you need to do is start out with a simple exercise that won’t cause you to injure yourself. Walking is one of the simplest and easiest exercises to do. If you have a treadmill at home, set aside about 20-25 minutes to walk on the machine. Or you can walk several laps on the track at the gym or in the park. If walking is not for you, try purchasing a video with beginning aerobic exercises and follow along. Starting out with baby steps is easy. Once you get the hang of it, you can advance to more challenging exercises.

Step 2 – If you haven’t been to see a physician in a while, make an appointment as soon as you can. It’s always a good thing to schedule an annual physical. Be sure to advise your physician if you see or feel anything that is abnormal. If something is not right with your body, the sooner that it can be checked, then the sooner that the health issue can be taken care of.

Step 3 – Change up your diet – For starters, try not to consume so much red meat at one time. When you consume it, ensure that it is lean and avoid the fat portion. Reduce consuming food that contains refined sugars, such as candy, cake and cookies. When you consistently fill your body with these, your blood sugar could escalate quickly. You can be at a high risk of diabetes and/or other chronic health issues.

In addition to the three steps above, it’s important to take time out and rest your body. Not just your physical health, but your mental health as well. Incorporate relaxation techniques in your lifestyle. These can help your body in reducing stress and anxiety. They also help you to recharge and provide additional energy to your body. To incorporate this, you can do the following:

- Meditation

- Engage in hobbies that you enjoy and bring fulfillment

So, there you have it – a quick and easy three step process for making your health a priority in your life. Let’s recap the steps:

Step 1: Exercise on a regular basis

Step 2: Make an appointment to see your physician

Step 3: Change up your diet (what and how you eat)

Now, there is just one thing left to do – take action! So go ahead, and start the process with regular exercise; do it today, because the sooner that you get started, the sooner that you will benefit from being healthy!
