After January's blaze destroyed thousands of structures in Pacific Palisades, a two-story showcase home has been cleared for residents to safely inhabit it.
The deadly January wildfire destroyed the Los Angeles neighborhood of Pacific Palisades.
Jacob Soboroff was covering the blazes for NBC News when he came upon the Pacific Palisades house where he had grown up.
"If it feels raw for me, it's got to feel unbearable for thousands of people that are going to come back here in the coming days and weeks," Tur said.
WHAT'S HAPPENING
More than 1,000 structures were destroyed, and many people were hurt in the fires, including first responders.
My food addictions are never easy for me--or for the people around me. It starts with that first taste. I bet it's a lot like the reaction a drug addict has to crack cocaine.
"Our truck couldn't carry it all. We had to go back and make another trip."
Looking back, it's hard to believe what we did on those boards as kids. What was exhilarating then now looks downright scary to me. We didn't realize at the time that we were being pioneers. We just loved skateboarding, and the more difficult the challenge, the more we liked it!
