I wrote a post a year ago about what women over 50 shouldn't wear. The post was popular and seemed to touch a nerve with a lot of people. In revisiting this theme, it became glaringly obvious that I left some things off the 'what not to wear' list.
Dressing for success has so many different meanings to different people that the ability to dress well seems to have become a lost art. So how do we actually need to dress for interviews and the workforce? As an experienced hiring manager, I saw every conceivable outfit walk through my door, and there are a few lines that should not be crossed.

I am not fashion conscious. I can honestly say that I've never spent a cent on Vogue, Allure, Cosmopolitan, or any fashion magazine, for that matter. If you ask me the brand name of the blouse or slacks I'm wearing, I would have no idea.
