Clarence Haynes

An editor/writer who works in the world of book publishing and multimedia

Clarence Haynes graduated from Columbia University with a double concentration in psychology and representations of race and gender in literature. He later served as a copy editor and writer for the Long Island/Queens-based newspaper Newsday. Subsequently, Clarence has worked as an associate editor of both fiction and nonfiction with the imprint Harlem Moon and the Doubleday Broadway Publishing Group at Random House. He has continued to take on projects with both individual clients and companies in a variety of book genres, including fiction (literary, commercial and sci-fi/fantasy), memoir and cultural criticism. Having also written for several publications, he currently handles editorial duties for Biography.com and serves as a developmental editor with the book imprint 47North.
