Joy Ngoma studied TV/ Radio Broadcasting with a minor in Africana Studies at Tennessee State University. Ngoma, fluent in six languages is a writer who has a keen eye for issues addressing human rights violations and injustice. She is an active member of US Campaign for Burma, a US based organization to promote freedom, democracy and human rights in Burma and raise awareness about the egregious human rights violations committed by Burma's military regime. Ngoma is currently enrolled at New York Film Academy for MFA in Documentary Filmmaking but took a deferred temporary leave to volunteer as an English teacher with the Teach and Learn with Georgia Program, in Tbilisi, Georgia and now works as a Digital Producer for Takalani Sesame, the South African version of the children’s television program Sesame Street in Johannesburg, South Africa.
