Melonie is a 6th grade student at I.S. 162 in the South Bronx. She has lived in the South Bronx her entire life. In Melonie’s free time she enjoys crocheting, reading, and writing. The inspiration for Melonie’s story came from a pair of jeans that she really hated wearing. Her favorite classes are English and social studies. When Melonie grows up she wants to be a lawyer.
