Pete Danko

Pete Danko, a proud resident of Portlandia, is an Editor at Large for Wellstone Books and Renewable Energy Editor at EarthTechling.com.

Danko was Sports Editor of the Daily Cal back at Berkeley and a founding editor of a short-lived student weekly. His sportswriting has appeared in the New York Times, Detroit Free Press and Riverside Press-Enterprise, where he covered the Showtime-era Lakers and wrote a sports column.

His experience as an editor includes stints as the morning slot guy at the old San Francisco Examiner, where his duties included trying to keep a crew of World War II veterans awake, and a lively year or two as managing editor at HotWired, back in the early days of the WWW (Wild Wild Web).

Since 2010 he has worked at EarthTechling.com, where he's both an editor and columnist. He's also an avid runner.
