Minister, United Church of Christ
The Rev Tom Davis is a past chairperson of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America Clergy Advisory Board. He is a minister in the United Church of Christ.
A native of Scranton, PA, he is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Union Theological Seminary in New York City. He received his PhD from Duke University.
From 1960-63 he was a chaplain at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In 1966 he came to Skidmore College as Associate Professor of Religion and College Chaplain. He served the college 30 years and retired in 1996.
From 1992-1998, he was on the national board of PPFA.He is also currently a member of the state board of the New York State Family Planning Advocates, and the Religion, Culture, and Public Policy Board of the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy.
He is the author of SACRED WORK; PLANNED PARENTHOOD AND ITS CLERGY ALLIANCES, Rutgers Press, 2005.
