Tony Favorito

Director of Product Design, Fisher-Price

As Director of Product Design at Fisher-Price, Tony Favorito focuses on Preschool Technology Play, Role Play, Doodle Bear Toys and Licensed Basic Toys and is responsible for the User Experience Team.

Most recently, Favorito has focused his efforts on translating electronic trends and concepts for children in the Fisher-Price Apptivity and Kid-Tough product lines. His work has resulted in products like the award-winning Kid-Tough Digital Camera, the first ever digital camera built to survive rugged preschool use, and the new and highly buzzed about Fall 2013 Imaginext Apptivity Fortress, fusing digital and physical play. His recent goal has been to find the magic combination between popular devices and age-appropriate interfaces to make an incredibly fun play experience for children.

Favorito joined Fisher-Price in 1993 as an Associate Product Designer. Since 2001, Favorito has worked primarily on Preschool Toys, Electronics and Girls Playset product lines. In his two decades at Fisher-Price, Favorito has worked on such popular technology play lines as Kidtronics, Voice Comm Action Figures, GeoTrax, Star Station and Kasey the Kinderbot.

Prior to joining Fisher-Price, Favorito worked for a design consultancy in Rochester, N.Y. where he designed cameras, medical products and even typewriters. While Favorito originally thought of his time at Fisher-Price as temporary, after just a few years at the toy company, he decided to stay and support the brand’s mission to enrich childhood play.

Favorito earned his Bachelor of Industrial Design degree from Syracuse University. He lives in Buffalo, N.Y. with his wife Julia and daughters Cecelia, 11, and Drea, 9. In his free time he enjoys welding steel sculptures, restoring his 150-year-old home and kayaking with his family.
