Conan Addresses Boston Marathon Bombing In Opening Monologue (VIDEO)

'Boston's My Home Town...'

Conan began his opening monologue on Monday night with somber words about the event that had taken place in Boston earlier that day. While composed throughout the brief statement, his voice wavered slightly here and there, showing that, like the rest of us, he was clearly still digesting the horror of the events:

"Boston's my home town, it's where I grew up, it's where my family lives. So I wanted to take a moment to say, like everyone here, my thoughts and prayers are with the people in Boston and everyone who has been affected by this absolutely senseless act."

As all talk show hosts do when continuing their productions in the wake of tragedy, he then explained that it was their job to entertain the audience as best they can. "Which, given our track record, gives you people a 20% chance of having a good show tonight."
