David Boreanaz Says Affair Made His Marriage Stronger

Some affairs ruin relationships, but according to David Boreanaz, his 2010 extramarital fling actually strengthened his marriage.

"In a sacred ground like marriage, you find yourself out of it at certain times for reasons unknown that can be destructive," Boreanaz told TV Week (via E! Online). "There could be a demon that kind of comes out and overtakes you."

The "Bones" and "Angel" star added that his 2010 affair with Tiger Wood's mistress, Rachel Uchitel, was "a bonding experience, in the long run."

Last year, Boreanaz admitted to cheating on his then-pregnant wife, Jaime Bergman, with Uchitel, but said he hoped to eventually reconcile with his wife.

"We're working on repairing what has been damaged so badly," Boreanaz said at the time.

And the hits just kept on coming when explicit text messages between Uchitel and the actor were leaked just days after the actor went public with the affair. A few months later, Boreanaz was slapped with a sexual harassment lawsuit, with claims that he tried to put some moves on an extra on the "Bones" set. The suit was eventually resolved, with no further details provided.

Though it was understandably a rocky road to recovery, the actor and Bergman have moved on from the scandal and are enjoying being parents to their kids, Jaden, 9, and Bella, 2.

"Do I believe in giving up? No, I don't," Boreanaz told TV Week. "I'm a fighter. I'm a lover."
