Fox has a new drama in the works, and Greg Kinnear is the leading man.

The "As Good As It Gets" actor will star in the Fox's legal pilot "Rake," based on an Australian series about a criminal defense lawyer named Cleaver Greene.

According to EW
, Kinnear's character will have ”a mind-numbing lack of discretion and a total inability to pause before speaking ... The clients that Cleaver loves the most are those whose cases appear to be utterly hopeless."

Kinner has most recently been seen in "Modern Family" and "The Kennedys."

In other casting news...

Barry Sloane gets more "Revenge." The British actor, currently recurring as Aiden Mathis on the ABC drama, has been promoted to regular status starting with Episode 14. There is also an option for Sloane to return as a regular next season if the show is renewed. [Deadline]

Matt Dallas joins "Baby Daddy." The "Kyle XY" star will play rugged but sensitive Fitch Douglas, a love interest for Chelsea Kane's character, Riley, in at least three episodes of the ABC Family comedy. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Brett Dier will visit "Emily Owens M.D." The "L.A. Complex" alum will guest star as Henry, a patient with cystic fibrosis who is in need of a lung transplant on the CW medical drama. [HollywoodLife]
