Today is Gov. Sarah Palin's (R-AK) 45th birthday. And rather than use this post to take another richly-deserved whack at her, instead I wanted to thank her for bringing a little burst of enjoyment into my life each week.
While I have always been a Tina Fey fan from her SNL days, and despite all the critical acclaim it received, I never watched 30 Rock even once in its two-plus seasons. That all changed after Palin became the Republican vice presidential nominee (for obvious reasons). Thanks to Apple TV, I was able to download all 40+ episodes right after the November election and last night, finally, I became fully caught-up.
How in the world did I miss this gem for more than two years? Incredible. But then, it took me about three seasons before realizing that Seinfeld was one of the best shows ever. I guess I'm a little slow. But honestly, if you're not a 30 Rock junkie, you really are missing out on one of the truly great American sitcoms. It even made me like Alec Baldwin, once again.
For that, I say thank you Sarah Palin, and happy birthday.
