House Financial Services Committee Members Face Geithner On Full Stomachs

Four members of the House Financial Services Committee scheduled breakfast fundraisers for Wednesday morning before a committee hearing on proposed financial oversight reform, according to invitations obtained by the nonpartisan Sunlight Foundation.

Reps. Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.), Suzanne Kosmas (D-Fla.), Ed Royce (R-Calif.), and Travis Childers (D-Miss.) all had breakfast fundraisers to gobble up campaign cash at various venues around town.

Hopefully they had meals that fortified them for questioning Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. Perhaps bacon was served.

These are hardly the only fundraisers for committee members today -- Reps. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.), Ron Klein (D-Fla.), and Bill Posey (R-Fla.) all have events scheduled for later in the day, according to the invites posted on www.politicalpartytime.org. And Kosmas is a Wednesday double dipper, hitting Johnny's Half Shell for breakfast and a Comcast lobbyist's townhouse for dinner. (The Huffington Post briefly interviewed Kosmas when she attended a lunchtime fundraiser during a financial services hearing in July.)

LobbyBlog wonders who will attend these events and what will be discussed!
