“The View” announced Thursday that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) will be a guest next Tuesday ― Election Day. (Watch the videos below.)
Whoopi Goldberg revealed the development on the air and a promo also heralded the arrival of the MAGA firebrand on the daytime chat show that is widely considered liberal.
“Hell just froze over!” one viewer declared on X.
“I’m happy to say that she’s going to be here on Tuesday,” co-host Goldberg said. “I don’t know how many things we agree on, but I know the one thing that she and I and all of us at this table agree on is [the shutdown] should not be affecting the American people.”
Greene confirmed her surprising visit in a social media post (with a clip of Goldberg’s announcement) and later shredded the objections of “Republican men.”
“There are pathetic Republican men (mostly paid social media influencers) attacking me for going on Bill Maher’s show and The View,” she wrote. “Here is my voting card and nothing has changed about me, I’m 1,000,000% America ONLY. Sorry I’m not sorry I don’t obey Republican men’s demands that I, as a woman, don’t remain seen but not heard.”
The “View” episode is likely to be a ratings hit, giving Greene a large platform to be heard.
A few cracks in her Donald Trump-devoted armor have emerged lately. She has pushed for the release of the files related to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. During the ongoing shutdown, she has sided with Democrats bargaining to keep Obamacare subsidies alive to prevent massive premium hikes. At the same time, Greene has chided the GOP and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) for not revealing a health care alternative.
“View” hosts recently said they’d like to have more GOP company on the show but often get rejected, Variety reported.
