Matthew Mitcham Sings 'Single Ladies': Gay Aussie Diver Covers Beyonce On Ukulele

WATCH: Aussie Diver Matthew Mitcham Covers 'Single Ladies'

Just how exactly does Matthew Mitcham kill time in the Olympics Village? By performing a spirited cover of "Single Ladies," of course.

Mitcham released this video on his official YouTube page, which shows the Australian diver crooning Beyonce's hit while strumming a ukulele. "I'm just an Olympic diver who likes to strum away in his spare time," Mitcham writes. "I think this is where I am supposed to credit Beyonce or something..."

The openly gay diver, who took home a gold medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, shrugged off any lingering concerns about his performance in London to the Brisbane Times. "I realize that I've already got an Olympic gold medal, so anything that I achieve is a bonus on top of that," he said. "That takes away the pressure of expectation, because I don't need to prove myself. I've already done it. Now I can just compete and just enjoy the competition, which is when I tend to compete best anyway."

While Mitcham professes "to be neither a great instrumentalist nor singer," we'd say his talents outside of the pool are quite impressive.
