This mom is teaching her son one of life's greatest lessons: No challenge is too large to overcome -- especially when you've got a great support system by your side.

Linda Bannon, 35, and her 9-year-old son, Timmy, both have Holt-Oram syndrome, a genetic disorder that results in abnormalities in the upper limbs and the heart. Linda and Timmy were born without arms.

The Bannons -- who live in Illinois along with husband and father, Richard -- have overcome the challenges presented by having no arms and have achieved a special kind of harmony with each other. In the video above by Barcroft TV, Linda can be seen helping Timmy get dressed, swimming with him and brushing her teeth alongside him.

"It never really occurred to me growing up that I was that different from anyone else," Linda says. It's a sentiment that she has been careful to impart on her son.

Timmy was born with severe heart problems and spent the first two months of his life in intensive care. Now, he attends school and plays sports and video games.

"I'm just like the other kids," 9-year-old Timmy Bannon says in the video above. "I'm just like them."

Watch the video above for a look into the Bannons' lives.
