Pacific Standard Time: Los Angeles Through The Eyes Of Artists

The Getty Museum set out to capture Los Angeles' social and artistic transformation from the golden-era in the 1940s to the creative spirit of the early 80s -- and they nailed it.

Pacific Standard Time is the most comprehensive artistic collaboration to date of Los Angeles art between the years 1945 and 1980. Beginning October 1, guests will be able to visit over sixty local cultural institutions that will be hosting exhibitions -- thanks to the help of the Getty Museum's $10 million in grants.

Los Angeles as feminist, minimalist, pop-punk hipster, and architect are just a few of movements that will be captured in this massive city-wide exhibition.

LACMA, MOCA, CalArts, Armony Center for the Arts, the Eames House Foundation, the Hammer Museum, LA >< ART, SMMOA, the Hammer Museum, the Norton Simon, and the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) are just a few of the venues.
