WHO: Alex McLeod
WHAT: PULSE NY
WHEN: Thursday March 3 to Sunday March 6, 2011
Opening Reception: Thursday March 3 from 10:00-1:00pm
WHERE: The Metropolitan Pavilion
125 West 18th Street, Chelsea, New York, NY 10011
WHY: It's no wonder Alex McLeod studied drawing and then switched to computer-generated digital imagery; the medium has allowed his fantastical ideas to manifest themselves as colorful, whimsical and multi-layered dioramas that suggest other worldly scenes and stories.
These anonymous and deserted landscapes signify human interaction that may have once been or still might be. These photographs look as though they were manufactured by hand and then photographed, but the only real thing that truly exists is the paper they are printed on.
