Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge visited the French embassy in London Tuesday to sign its book of condolences following the deadly attack in Paris that killed at least 129 people and wounded hundreds more last week.
The pair spoke with the French ambassador to the United Kingdom and left a joint note in the book, written by Prince William and also signed by Kate.
"To all those who have died and were injured in the heartless attacks in Paris, and to all the people in France: nos plus sincères condoléances (our deepest condolences)," it read.
The duke and duchess join a long list of public figures to pay tribute to the victims of the attacks, with many politicians and celebrities taking to social media to express condolences and reactions of their own:
