Queen Latifah Doesn't Want To Do Paternity Tests On Her New Talk Show (VIDEO)

Queen Latifah dropped by the “Late Show” to promote her new talk show, but David Letterman brought up the fact that this won’t be her first attempt at daytime.

Queen Latifah previously hosted a daytime talker in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, but she told Dave it was everything she didn’t want her show to be.

“We wound up doing paternity, and I was like, paternity? Man, come on. I can’t do paternity. I can’t do paternity. You know, there’s people who really do paternity good," she said. “And I didn’t want to do that every day, you know? You are not the father! But bring on 10 other guys and we will find out who the daddy is, Dave! Because the people have to know!”

“They have to know,” Dave quipped.

Now, Queen Latifah gets to cover what she wants to cover. She said her new "Queen Latifah Show" will be a fun mix of celebrity interviews, music, comedy sketches and segments on real people doing amazing things. It premieres September 16 in syndication.

And while Latifah might not be interested in paternity test talk shows, there certainly is a market for them. In fact, an entire show devoted to paternity and lie-detector tests -- called “The Test” -- launches this fall, too.
