The New York Post's Page Six reports that Donald Trump is mad at CNBC reporter Rebecca Jarvis for leaving his "The Apprentice" — which Jarvis appeared on, and which Trump credits for launching her career — out of her official CNBC bio.
Page Six reports that Trump wrote Jarvis a letter about the omission:
"In your very nice . . . bio, which airs on CNBC, many facts are mentioned about you, some very unimportant," Trump wrote to Jarvis. "But the only thing you don't mention is that you were on 'The Apprentice,' which is the sole factor leading to your job at CNBC. How quickly we forget." A CNBC flack said: " 'The Apprentice' got Rebecca a courtesy interview, but her intelligence, determination and background in both journalism and investment banking got her everything else."
The 27-year-old Jarvis' official bio focuses on her work and educational experience, but does, as Trump notices, omit the show:
To her reporting, Jarvis brings hands-on business experience in both investment banking and foreign currency trading. As an investment banker with Banc of America Securities, she analyzed and advised $6 billion in mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt transactions. Prior to that, she executed interest rate trades on Citigroup's foreign exchange desk in London.
Jarvis left financial services to pursue a career in journalism and has written for publications ranging from Crain's Chicago Business to Business 2.0. She is currently a governor on the board of the Society of American Business Editors and Writers.
Jarvis graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Economics and Law, Letters & Society. A recipient of the University of Chicago Dean's Grant, she also studied European banking and financial markets at the Universitė Sciences Po and Dauphine Universitė in Paris, France.
