FLOTUS & Samantha Cameron Have Another Fashion Faceoff! (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Fashionable First Ladies!

SamCam and Michelle Obama seem to be having a trans-Atlantic style battle. (A friendly one, natch.)

After their fashion tete-a-tete yesterday, where both Mrs. Obama and the visiting British first lady brightened up an Olympics event in Day-Glo hues by L'Wren Scott and Roksanda Ilincic, respectively, the stylish pair brought their A-game again on Wednesday for a formal state welcoming ceremony for the Camerons.

FLOTUS opted for a sleek gray dress and jacket from Zac Posen for the sunny day in D.C., while Samantha Cameron apparently brought a whole trunk of Roksanda Illincic with her, as she once again wore one of the designer's creations: a crepe wool colorblocked dress in shades of blue and cream, accented with a navy belt. On her feet? The same L.K. Bennett pumps she wore the day before.

Not that Roksanda Ilincic, obviously, minds SamCam wearing her creations: "It is always a delight to see Samantha Cameron wearing my designs," Ilincic told Grazia Daily. "And it is incredibly flattering that she has chosen to wear this during her visit to the United States.’

President Obama opted out of the sartorial showdown, although he looked dapper as usual in a suit and red tie, but he did trot out some Britishisms for the occasion:

"And finally, I would just note that while this is not the first official visit of my presidency, it is one of the few where I have not had to pause for translation. We Americans and Brits speak the same language -- most of the time. So let me just say, David, we are chuffed to bits that you are here and I’m looking forward to a great natter. I’m confident that together we’re going to keep the relationship between our two great nations absolutely top-notch."

UPDATE: The Obamas and Camerons also exchanged gifts: David gave the Obamas a ping-pong table and British books for Sasha and Malia, and Samantha gave Michelle a printed Jonathan Saunders scarf. The Obamas gifted the Camerons with a handmade grill, White House chef jackets and customized beanbag chairs for their kids. Our fave: Michelle gave Samantha a crysta vase, White House honey, a candle and chamomile seeds from their garden.
