Tea Party Comedian Eric Golub Compares Trig Palin To 'Special Needs' Liberals (VIDEO)

WATCH: Tea Party Comedian Compares Liberals To Trig Palin

Comedian and Big Hollywood contributor Eric Golub delivered a stand-up routine praising Sarah Palin at a recent Tea Party event in Iowa on Saturday. While the act mostly targeted President Obama and Palin critics, one segment of his performance stood out: a comparison between liberals and Trig Palin, the former Alaska governor's son with Down syndrome.

"[Sarah Palin] has a beautiful, adorable special needs child," Golub told the crowd. "For that reason alone, the left should worship Sarah Palin and adopt her as one of their own. Because the leftist haters are an entire political ideology of special needs children."

In the past, Palin has been quick to criticize comedians that go after her kids, especially those who bring up Trig. In 2010, she attacked "Family Guy" for making jokes she deemed insensitive to those with Down syndrome (despite the fact that the character in question was played by a woman with the condition).

She also loudly demanded that David Letterman be excused from "Late Show" duty in 2009 after she misunderstood a joke he made about her daughter Bristol. Golub also harshly attacked Letterman on Andrew Breitbart's Big Hollywood for going after Palin's kids.

Although Golub may not be on the same level as "Family Guy" or Letterman, we wonder whether Palin will maintain consistency in denouncing comedians who use her children as ammunition for jokes, especially as Golub seems go even further than Letterman or Seth MacFarlane by implying that special needs children lack intelligence (despite his insistence that Trig is "lovable"). Additionally, bloggers from the left and right have often made Trig's integrity a raison d'etre in the past, so despite Palin's relatively low profile in recent times, we are curious to see whether Golub will be treated similarly -- or if Palin only reserves harsh words for those that she considers to be enemies and not allies, and if special needs advocates only attack commentators whom they believe should know better.
