Twins Double Play: Jeff Manship, Brian Dozier Contribute To Unlikely Double Play (VIDEO)

WATCH: Is This The Biggest Double Play Of The Year?

1-6-4-3.

In the top of the eighth inning on Sunday, the Minnesota Twins turned an unorthodox double play on a ball put in play by Brewers' catcher Martin Maldonado. First, the ball ticked off the glove of pitcher Jeff Manship. Then shortstop Brian Dozier scooped it up, making a seamless flip to second from behind the bag to second baseman Jamey Carroll, who then fired to first baseman Justin Morneau to finish the play.

That the announcer calling the action dubbed the DP "one of the biggest double plays all year" may speak as much to the quick reactions of the infielders as to the Twins' 26-39 record. Minnesota currently sits in last place in the AL Central.

Even so, the play was something to phone home about.
