The one thing these stories all have in common: they were surprises. Nobody expects love to strike -- it just does, which is a little crazy, since those meetings are among the most important of our entire lives.
After much thought (at least 10 minutes or so), I came up with the following activities that you are welcome to emulate.
I could make of my time what I wanted, free of warped expectations or fears of how I should be feeling or what was coming next. No longer was my fixation on crossing the Monday-to-Friday monkey bars. It didn't have to be, because it didn't matter what day it was. It was today, and nothing else mattered.
In the middle of Sonoma (considered by many to be Napa's cooler, younger cuz) is Guerneville, an unassuming town made up of little more than a main street and a bend of the Russian River.
Once you've found something you like, you can either dedicate time to just that hobby, or build it into a different part of your schedule and continue exploring new things. Either way, you'll get to spend part of your weekend doing something fun and interesting.
I bruise like a peach -- even a gentle bump into a corner of a desk will leave me with a big, purple bruise on my hip. So when my friend suggested that we play paintball, my natural response was, "Why on earth would I voluntarily put myself in a position to get bruised?"
With the switch of summer to fall comes an exciting new book list.
