Erika Schickel is the author of "You're Not the Boss of Me: Adventures of a Modern Mom." A regular book critic for and op-ed contributor for The Los Angeles Times, her essays, reviews and reporting have also appeared in The L.A. Weekly, L.A. City Beat and Bust Magazine .
