Matt Weinberg

Former Obama Appointee, Independent Consultant

Matt Weinberg is a former White House appointee in the U.S. Small Business Administration, where he served as a Senior Advisor in the Office of Investment and Innovation. He was part of the leadership team that drove federal programs directing $6 billion in capital to investment funds, early-stage technology companies, and accelerators and incubators across the country. Prior to joining the Obama Administration, Matt worked for the New York City Economic Development Corporation where he managed city-wide programs aimed at developing New York City’s technology sector. He has prior experience working at the White House, the Department of Housing and Urban Development and on multiple political campaigns (including President Obama's 2012 re-election campaign). Matt currently advises startups that have a regulatory focus or that are seeking to access government resources. In addition, he serves as an SBIR innovation grant application reviewer for the National Science Foundation. Matt is a frequent contributor on TechCrunch and has been published in numerous publications, including the New York Times.
