Research Director, Raoul Wallenberg Institute

Thomas Gammeltoft-Hansen is the research director at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute. He was previously the research director at the Danish Institute for Human Rights and executive chairman of the Association of Human Rights Institutes. On April 1, 2016 he will take up the position as research director of the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. His research interests evolve around refugee law and policy, migration management and the relationship between law and politics.

His book, Access to Asylum: International Refugee Law and the Globalisation of Migration Control (Cambridge University Press, 2011) won the K.G. Idman Award for best monograph in public international law.
