This cricket player used an interview as an opportunity to hit on a television reporter, and now he may face possible sanctions.

Chris Gayle of the Melbourne Renegades inappropriately flirted with a reporter, Mel McLaughlin, when he asked her to go out for drinks after the game while on the air during Monday's match against the Hobart Hurricanes.

"Hopefully we can win this game and have a drink after," Gayle said to an embarrassed McLaughlin. "Don't blush, baby."

The backlash was swift.

Anthony Everard, head of the Big Bash League, criticized the player on social media, calling his comments "disrespectful and inappropriate."

Gayle's team called him out, as well. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Renegades chief executive Stuart Coventry said, "There's just no place for that sort of behavior."
