'Friends' Reunion On 'Cougar Town' As Matthew Perry Drops By

Mini 'Friends' Reunion On Cougar Town

It was a reunion of "Friends" and lovers on "Cougar Town" when Matthew Perry joined his one-time TV wife, Courteney Cox. Ironically, he was looking to make her his wife on this show as well. That's because Jules neglected to tell his character -- a billionaire named Sam -- that she was already married. In her indefensible defense, she was trying to weasel her way out of the fact that she'd hit his car.

The proposal was an epic flash mob that Howie Mandel would have loved to be a part of on his short-lived series "Mobbed." Jules, wrapped up in the grandeur of it, said yes. Needless to say, her husband Grayson wasn't all that thrilled. Perhaps it was their on-screen chemistry he didn't like. All those years together on the NBC juggernaut made Cox and Perry fast friends.

In the closing credits, Perry either cracked a great joke, or made a genuine error when walking away from Grayson and Jules in one scene. He called Cox "Monica" rather than "Jules." It was a fun nod to their history together. The New York Post's Andrea Morabito noted that this was the latest in a new trend of "Friends" co-stars appearing on one another's series. In fact, Cox appeared on Perry's last series, "Go On."

"Cougar Town" airs every Tuesday night at 10 p.m. EST on TBS.
