Jerry Jones Shares Responsibility For Super Bowl Seating Chaos

Taking Responsibility

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones finally addressed the Super Bowl 45 seating problem that forced 400 fans to give up their seats and watch from standing-room platforms in corners of Cowboys Stadium. 850 others had to move to a new section.

"I do, along with the NFL, take responsibility for the seating issue and some of the things that we would like to improve on regarding the seating issues," Jones said Friday morning, according to ESPNDallas. "The informing of the fans that were involved, the NFL and I take responsibility for. You always like to look at areas you can do better, get better. We certainly intend to and will get much better in terms of the seating and how that is handled."

A few hours before kickoff to Super Bowl XLV, 1,250 seats were declared unsafe.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell called the seating problem a "failure."

The NFL said after the game that they would give $2,400 and tickets to next year's Super Bowl to the fans who lost their seats.

Then, the league announced that instead of taking the $2,400, fans have the choice to "receive a ticket to any future Super Bowl, including next year's, along with round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations."
