Via Curbed LA: Photographer Marvin Rand worked on capturing images of Los Angeles' most notable architectural landmarks (including the circular Capitol Records Tower and the Hunt House in Malibu) for over 50 years. According to the LA Times, Rand (who was described as "tenacious and opinionated"), commissioned the help of like-minded architect Bernard Zimmerman to design his Hollywood Hills home. The Architectural Record states that Zimmerman "wasn't shy about voicing opinions of what he loved and what he loathed."

The $2.495 million modern-home rests on a 15,000-square-foot lot, has four bedrooms and four-and-a-half baths. It also features canyon views, hardwood floors, Anne Sacks tiles and several period details.
